42nd Anniversary

At high noon on August 6, 1966, a day that will live in infamy, I waited in the sacristy of St. Katherine of Sienna Catholic Church in Wayne, PA for my soon to be bride and monster mother-in-law to show up. The night before, they were so late for the rehearsal that it and the dinner following were almost canceled. I listened to Luci Baines Johnson, daughter of the President, walk all the way up the aisle of the National Shrine in Washington before we could get started. I often describe my wedding as the worst day of my life, not because I've ever regretted it, but because I had no control over the proceedings. Here's what we looked like (my wife is the one smiling).

It's been a great ride so far. Right now, we're in the midst of a family reunion at the Shore with all 6 of our grandkids and their parents.
