Bill and Cathy McArthur Spring/Summer/Fall 2008: 28

Monday, October 20, Cathy went to the gym. She went to Dr. Maroldo's office to get her MRI results, but they had none. When she returned home, she called Atlantic Imaging and arranged to get the report faxed to Maroldo's office (as it was supposed to be last week) and for us to pick up a copy of the report at their location. We drove to Cape May Court House and got the report. We read it over in the parking lot and concluded that it was a clean finding. We went to Starbuck's for lunch and then picked up the RV and brought it home. Bill washed the RV since the forecast was for a very windy week. We ordered a 26" HDTV from Best Buy to pick up later. We viewed "Fast Food Nation" - disturbing, but very true to life.

Tuesday was sunny and chilly. Cathy went to the gym. Bill rode his bike to Cape May Point. We started to organize ourselves for leaving on Monday for the south. As the wind picked up to gale force, we drove to Best Buy to pick up the new TV for the RV.

Wednesday morning, the gale was still blowing. Cathy went to the gym. Bill was lifting weights when he got a call from the Water's Edge Motel in Wildwood asking for him to supply the 2009 update to their front desk program. Bill worked on that software and then started charging batteries for our trip. After lunch, Bill drove to Water's Edge to install the software update. When he returned, he worked on getting the water system ready for travel. We had burgers for dinner and viewed Frontline's show on global warming. Bill worries that the politics overshadows the science, but obviously, the whole world needs to work on dramatically curtailing dangerous emissions.

Thursday was less windy, but chilly. Cathy went to the gym. Bill continued to work on packing the RV. We had an early lunch and then walked to Harpoon Henry's. Then we went to our dermatologist, Dr. Weiss, for a tune-up. We stopped at Starbucks on the way back. Mike Cosmo came over to make sure he could deal with our security system. Bill continued to pack the RV until sunset. We went to dinner at Panico's. Bill viewed "Spider" and found it disturbing and depressing spiced with good actors and acting.

Friday, Cathy went to the gym. Bill got the house ready for a viewing and then rode his bike to Cape May Point. He then walked to Congress Hall and met with Cathy and Bob and Beth Finlay who treated us to lunch at the Blue Pig. After lunch, we went to a store on the Mall and Bill bought Cathy a sweater using her credit card. Bill headed back home. We had a quiet evening.

Saturday was an on and off rainy day. Cathy went to the gym. Bill lifted weights at home. After lunch, we shopped for a number of items that we needed for the RV. Bill worked some more on packing the RV in between rain storms. After dinner, we watched Penn State's great victory over Ohio State. We also watched the Alabama/LSU game for a while and then part of the World Series.

Sunday was our last day at home for 2008. Bill completed the packing of the basement storage in the RV. Then he secured the bikes on the back of the RV. We drove to the flu shot clinic in Kindle Autos and then went to lunch at Starbucks. When we returned, Bill topped the air in the 6 tires to 65 psi using his new air compressor. Then he chained the kayaks together. Later, we walked to the Canal and came back on the beach.
