Bill and Cathy McArthur on the Road 2011: 2

Tuesday, January 11, marked the end of our Disney World stay with Son Bill and family. We all got ourselves organized, packed our cars, and hit the road by 9:30 AM. Son Bill was facing snow and ice in Georgia and made it home by 7:00 PM. We drove directly to Starbucks/Publix to shop and then went home for lunch. Afterward, Bill went out for a two mile recovery run and then went to LVCC for a tutoring session with Primo. We viewed the first half of the very disappointing "Iron Man 2" before heading to bed.

Wednesday was a very chilly day. Cathy went to her exercise classes. In the afternoon, Bill went for a 3.5 mile walk. We went over to the bridge for part of Happy Hour and then went to the clubhouse for the Computing Workshop. We viewed "Earth" while we dined on quinoa and frozen lasagne.

Thursday was another chilly and windy day. Bill went for a 20 mile bike ride wearing four layers on top. Bill walked to his tutoring session. We grilled burgers for dinner while we finished "Iron Man 2."

Friday started in the low 40s and made it into the 70s. Cathy went to an exercise class and then a meeting. Bill went out for a 4.5 mile kayak paddle for 16.2 miles to Rookery Bay. Bill had a late lunch and then sat in the sun for a while to warm up. Our neighbor Tom Cox came over and showed Bill the Disney 20th Anniversary Cel that he had received in 1991. He was interested in selling it on eBay. Tom and Jean Riley came over to visit. We went out for a wonderful seafood dinner at "Steamers" and then went to Country Line Dancing in Fort Myers.

Saturday started at 49 degrees and sunny. Bill had a lot of computer work to catch up with. After lunch, Cathy went to play bridge. Bill went out for a 1 mile walk, 1 mile speed walk, and 3 mile run:

The temperature was 77 degrees, so Bill was happy to be able to do some sweating, a rare activity so far this winter. After stretching, Bill went out on the front deck to finish a couple of difficult crossword puzzles. When Cathy returned, we went to Starbucks/Publix for some shopping. We attended Happy Hour on the bridge and then had a pasta dinner while we viewed "Dorian Gray", a beautiful rendition of Wilde's tale.

Sunday was a beautiful day. Bill started with a 40 mile bike ride while Cathy walked. After lunch, we walked to the beach at 5th Avenue and sat or laid on our Sherpa Chairs for a couple of hours. We walked home in time to go to the bridge for Happy Hour. Later in the evening we went to Sushi Thai on 5th Avenue for dinner. We sat at the bar so that we could watch the second half of the Patriots/Jets playoff game. When we returned home we watched the Golden Globes for a while before bedtime.
